Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson is still soaking up the single life for now.

The "Underneath the Tree" songstress recently opened up about the future of her love life during a new episode of The Kelly Clarkson Showbut it doesn't sound like she'll be heading back out into the dating pool anytime soon.

Clarkson, 41, filed for divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock back in 2020, prompting two years of public and contentious divorce proceedings between her and the talent manager, who is also the father of her two children: River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 7.

Nearly two years after finalizing the divorce in March 2022, the American Idol alum revealed if she's ready to get back out there and start dating again while talking to Shannen Doherty, who appeared as a guest on her talk show's Wednesday, Dec. 20 episode.

"I think I need a little more work on me in a relationship to make sure I take care of myself at the same time as somebody else," Clarkson divulged to Doherty, who is currently going through her own divorce from husband Kurt Iswarienko.

The former coach on The Voice went on to talk about how "hard" divorce can be, especially since, "you thought you were going to spend forever with this person."

But since becoming single again, moving to New York and thriving in her career, Clarkson appears to be doing just fine without a partner right now.

She also declared that she is "still in the stage of really enjoying me."

As for Doherty, 52, the Charmed actress filed to divorce Iswarienko back in April, following 11 years of marriage with the photographer.

Though the divorce filing cited "irreconcilable differences," as the reason for the split, Doherty has since accused her ex of carrying on an affair for two years, an affair that she claims she found out about just before before going into surgery to remove a brain tumor.

While Doherty continues the fight for her life while being single now, she confirmed to Clarkson that she is "ready" to find love again.
