Nick Jonas made sure that the final knockout round of The Voice ended with a bang.

During Monday night's episode, the Jonas Brothers band member was forced to pick one of two Team Nick singers to advance to the next round — Zae Romeo, 21, or Rachel Mac, 16. The only problem is, Nick immediately regretted his pairing decision once both artists started singing. Rachel delivered "Foolish Games" by Jewel with ease and flawless vocals while Zae showed off his impressive range performing BøRNS's "Electric Love."

"They are two of my youngest and two of my favorites, which makes me feel like an idiot for putting them together. Oops," Nick declared.

After receiving many compliments from fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John Legend, it became clear that Nick was really conflicted.

"On one hand, Zae, you sang the best I've ever heard you sing," Nick began, before shifting over to Rachel moments later. "On the other hand, Rachel, you're growing exponentially every time we work together."

Surprising many, Nick ended up choosing Rachel. "I picked Rachel because she's kind of a darkhorse. One-chair turn, and here she is going into the live shows. I think she's one of the strongest vocalists we have, and I know she can get even better."

Within seconds of Nick choosing Rachel, Kelly swooped in and used her steal on Zae.

"That’s a no brainer. I turned for you in the Blinds, I loved you in the Battles from home in my PJs," Kelly told Zae, referencing her temporary absence earlier this season due to illness. "Your voice gave me goosebumps the entire performance."

She continued: "Zae is incredible. I think Nick really messed up there." Apparently, some viewers watching at home agreed with Kelly. "Is Nick trying to sabotage himself? No way he should’ve let Zay [sic] go. Well I guess Kelly won with her steal," one fan tweeted. "I love Nick, and Rachel is lovely, but what are you doing with Zae :( hes the winner obv thank god Kelly steal him," another wrote on Twitter. "why would nick not save zae ?," a different fan questioned.

Regardless, it looks like both singers are staying in competition which is good news for the artists and coaches Nick and Kelly. In upcoming weeks, we will see if Nick (or Kelly!) ultimately made the right call.
