Imagine the surprise of handing a microphone to a stranger and it turns out to be Kelly Clarkson.

Well, that’s exactly what happened this weekend, and the moment was captured in a video that Clarkson shared to her Instagram account. Turns out, the 41-year-old talk show host was passing by a performer on the streets of Las Vegas and she wanted to tip her for her impressive performance. But then, the performer handed the “Since U Been Gone” songstress the mic and she ended up giving her own rousing performance. Check out the amazing moment below.

The American Idol winner described the encounter in her caption, writing, “I was on my way to soundcheck for @iHeartRadio tonight in Vegas and was tipping this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner and then she asked me to sing and had no clue who I was, and then it hit her, and it made my day! She gives the best hugs and sings her tail off! See ya tonight Vegas [heart emoji] #iHeartFestival2023.”

In the video, Clarkson sings a cover of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do with It.” At the start of the clip, you can see the street performer enjoying Clarkson’s rendition, before it suddenly dawns on her who is singing. Then, the two hug and you can hear the unsuspecting woman laugh and say: “Are you f**king kidding me?!”

Clarkson was in Vegas for the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Festival, which took place on September 22 and 23. The “Behind These Hazel Eyes” crooner was one of the headliners for night two, and she performed a medley of her hits for the cheering crowds.

In addition to her festival role, it was also an exciting weekend for Clarkson because she released the deluxe version of her album Chemistry, which came out in June of this year.

We love this real-life instance of Kelly-oke.
