eWe’ve always considered Kelly Clarkson to be a role model, but now we do even more so. The singer recently spoke about raising her kids, saying she emphasizes the importance of standing up for yourself and what’s right. Clarkson has four children in all, the oldest two being husband Brandon Blackstock’s son Seth and daughter Savannah. The younger two are their 18-month-old son, Remington Alexander, and their three-year-old daughter, River Rose, who just started school.

And Clarkson’s been giving River Rose some important advice. “I said, ‘You tell mommy if somebody does anything inappropriate,'” Clarkson told People at Variety’s Power of Women event on Friday. “‘You stand up for yourself.'”

River Rose is definitely Clarkson’s mini-me!

Clarkson also teaches her daughter the importance of standing up for others.

“Even from a young age, I think you should instill that people, your children, should always stand up for themselves or speak out when something is wrong,” Clarkson continued. “Not only for them, what’s happening to them, but maybe somebody in the class who you notice.”

Of course, we could not agree more. And speaking of standing up for themselves, apparently River Rose has been practicing. It all started when Clarkson took her to see Wonder Woman.

“It’s nice to have this bold female figure for your girl,” Clarkson told Entertainment Weekly. “Once she saw the little girl in Woman Woman defend herself and all that she loved, she started acting it out, and I couldn’t have been more proud.”

Clarkson was honored at the event for her work with XQ Institute. And during her speech, Clarkson got distracted by Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, who was sitting near the front. The singer even told the crowd she was “so nervous I’m shaking,” EW reports.

Yup, Clarkson fangirled over Gadot, erm, Wonder Woman, and we love it — because we fangirl over them both and totally get it. After all, Clarkson is also a Wonder Woman to us.

We commend Clarkson for teaching River Rose such important life lessons at an early age.
