Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock are still battling things out in court following their 2022 divorce, and the American Idol winner has just filed yet another lawsuit against her ex-husband.

Clarkson, 41, lodged a new case against the music manager in Los Angeles court on Monday, March 11, alleging that Blackstock and his father's management company, Starstruck Entertainment, had been violating state labor rules since the very start of his relationship with the "Breakaway" songstress. (Blackstock, 47, helped manage Clarkson through his family's firm for over a decade.)

According to reports from Billboard, Clarkson is asking the court to require that Blackstock return "any and all commissions, fees, profits, advances, producing fees or other monies" she paid to Starstruck Entertainment dating all the way back to 2007, following claims that Blackstock unlawfully booked jobs for her and overcharged a commission.

Clarkson already sued Blackstock over the earned commissions as far back as 2017, but this new lawsuit goes much further back.

In November 2023, a California labor commissioner ruled in Clarkson's favor on earlier lawsuit, noting that Blackstock was never legally a certified talent agent while working with Clarkson, making his involvement in her gigs—including her role on The Voice, and partnerships with Norwegian Cruise Line and Wayfair—therefore unlawful.

Blackstock was consequently ordered to pay back over $2.6 million to the TV talk show host, a decision he filed to appeal shortly after. His appeal is still pending and is set for a hearing in August, per Billboard.

Clarkson and Blackstock split in 2020 after seven years of marriage. Their contentious divorce wasn't finalized until March 2022, with the "Since U Been Gone" songstress agreeing to pay her ex a lump sum payment of over $1.3 million, plus monthly child support for their two children, River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 7.
