The talk show host is returning to her roots.

The wait for a new Kelly Clarkson music will be over soon!

On Sunday afternoon, the singer and talk show host revealed details of her next album in an Instagram video.

"It is finally time to tell you I've been working on this project for…well, close to 3 years now and I wasn't sure I was going to release it but I am," said Clarkson.

The LP is named Chemistry, because the singer, 40, wanted a word that encompassed all of the complexity of the emotions surrounding her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

"I didn't want people to think that I was just coming out with something [where I'm like], 'I'm angry, I'm sad,' just one or two emotions," explained Clarkson. "This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship, and a whole relationship shouldn't be brought down to one thing. So there's the good, the bad, and the ugly kind of thing going on in it."

She continued, "Chemistry can be a really amazing sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you. That's why I named it Chemistry. I thought it was the perfect title to describe the entire album."

Though she did not reveal when the album is coming out, she teased it'll be arriving "soon," and the singles will be here "even sooner."

Chemistry is Clarkson's first proper studio album since 2017's Meaning of Life. The "Since U Been Gone" singer released a Christmas album, When Christmas Comes Around…, in 2021 but had taken a break from working on new material for a while.
