Fans of The Voice, it's time to say goodbye to Kelly Clarkson—at least for now! NBC announced the coaches for the show's 22nd season, and the "Since U Been Gone" singer will not be returning. Instead, the contestants will be lead by Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Camila Cabello. Gwen is returning to the coaching chair after a hiatus, while Camila is coaching for the first time. Ariana Grande, who coached in season 21, is also not returning.

Kelly coached eight seasons of The Voice and won four times. With her packed schedule of her daily talk show and a hosting stint on American Song Contest, fans were concerned that she would not return. She dropped hints of a hiatus last week on the Elvis Duran Show. Kelly talked about her 40th birthday and her gift to herself: "I literally said ‘no’ to everything this summer. I will not do anything this summer. Since I was 16 years old, I haven’t had a summer off. This is my first summer off. I am taking time."

NBC made the official announcement with a video on Instagram. The video shows Gwen, Blake, and John singing "Grace Kelly" by Mika, and Camila pops in at the end. The caption reads, "Introducing your Voice Coaches. 🎶 #TheVoice returns this fall with @blakeshelton, @johnlegend, @gwenstefani, and @camila_cabello."

Fans were devastated to see that Kelly wasn't included in the list. The jumped to the comments section to express their concerns.

  • "my girl kelly is gone 😭"

  • "Wait? Kelly is taking a break? Omg"

  • "Kelly was THE COACH that made each season amazing"

While we'll miss Kelly, we're sure Camila is going to do an excellent job. In fact, the Cuban-born singer rose to fame after finishing in third place on X Factor and forming girl group Fifth Harmony. She has since embarked on a successful solo career.

All in all, we're excited to see what's in store for season 22 this fall!
