One source told People that quarantining together “exacerbated any issues.” The pair and their children (River, 5, Remington, 3, as well as Blackstock’s children from a previous marriage: Savannah, 18, and Seth, 13) began quarantining at their ranch in Montana back in March. “It was a stressful time,” the source said. Clarkson has since returned to L.A.

A separate source told the outlet that the couple had been “like friends for a while,” explaining, "Things had changed in their marriage and the split was a while coming. They both work so hard. It's nearly impossible to enjoy each other, especially with the children needing constant attention.”

Clarkson and Blackstock met in 2006 but didn’t begin dating until 2002. They wed in 2013 and welcomed daughter River the following year.

Since quarantine started, Clarkson has been working on her show from home. The source told People that, "They both work so hard. It's nearly impossible to enjoy each other, especially with the children needing constant attention."
