Keke Palmer Responded to Her Viral "Sorry to This Man" Dick Cheney Meme

If you’ve spent some time on the Internet as of late, you’ve probably seen Keke Palmer’s "sorry to this man" meme pop up more than a few times on your timeline. Well, the Hustlers actor, who became a viral meme after she failed to recognize Dick Cheney in an interview game, is now weighing in on the meme herself, and her response is as priceless as you’d expect.

Following the meme’s craze, Keke stopped by Watch What Happens Live and took the opportunity to shed some light on its genesis. Speaking to the show’s host, Andy Cohen, she admitted she was taken aback by the clip’s surging popularity.

"I was just thrown because I did not expect — I truly was sorry to that man. I just felt bad because I didn’t know who he was. Because I knew it was going to be somebody that maybe everybody knew,” Keke admitted.

However, when she was asked again if she indeed did not recognize the former vice president, Keke’s response this time was slightly less apologetic but equally hilarious. "I didn’t know [but] I’m actually fine. After finding out who he is, I'm glad I didn't know," Keke said. And, well, we don't blame her.

Though Keke is now fully aware of Dick Cheney’s tumultuous, controversial history, thankfully the “sorry to this man” meme legacy will live forever on the Internet.
