Keke Palmer Hopped on the Honey Blonde Hair Trend in Her First Post-Breakup Red Carpet

Keke Palmer just wore her version of the Princess Diana revenge dress at the BET Soul Train Awards. And if beauty could kill, I’d be dead because she was positively smoldering on the red carpet—her first since announcing her breakup from ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson.

Palmer was on hand to host the evening, and she clearly understood the assignment: Serve looks and create moments. Here she did both at the same time by revealing her new honey blonde hair color. The hue paired with a big bouncy blowout and layered, face-framing cut was a nod to ’90s nostalgia, but warm butterscotch highlights seem inescapable in 2023. Kim Kardashian just debuted a similar shade at the 2023 GQ Men of the Year Awards, as did Rihanna a few days before her.

Unlike Princess Di’s revenge dress, which was designed by Christina Stambolian, Keke Palmer’s version is a Versace creation with a sculptural curved neckline. The Nope star finished off the sultry look with a pair of black pumps, big hoop earrings, rings, and a metallic silver manicure. Her makeup matched her caramel-colored balayage with shimmering bronze eye shadow and nude lipstick, but the most memorable part of the look had to be her high-watt smile. That, my friends, is the glow you get from cutting someone toxic out of your life.
