Keds Announced a Second Collection of Sneakers Featuring Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge from "Riverdale"
Fans of Riverdale know that the friendship between Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge comes with a complicated history — without spoiling anything we’ll just say that the pair's relationship endures some typical high school trials and tribulations. Yet their past hasn’t stopped them from serving as serious style inspirations. In April, Keds teamed up with Archie Comics to launch a line of sneakers inspired by the besties, and now they’re back with five adorable new styles.
The new sneaks were inspired by the classic '40s Betty & Veronica comic books, and it shows in every shoe design. A pair of slip-ons feature a phone call exchange between the characters (each has her own sneaker), and the art looks like it was taken straight from a comic strip. Other offerings include a lace-up pair covered in a colorful collage of comics and a pink-accented, black and white style full of mini Bettys and Veronicas. The final two pairs in the drop feature a mod leopard print that weaves in side profiles of B and V; one style is available in the classic white Keds silhouette, while the other boasts a subtle pink hue on the brand’s trendy Triple Kick flatform.
The newly-released shoes bring the Keds x Betty and Veronica collection to a total of 11 pairs. With prices ranging from $59.95 to $69.95, shoes will be available beginning Monday, July 15 and make for a pretty reasonable summer sneaker splurge. Wear them with a full Riverdale-inspired outfit for a look that’ll prove to every naysayer that comics can be chic. As our modern-day Betty and Veronica (and style icons in their own right), Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes would definitely approve.
