  • Peter Weber is the one who broke up with Kelley Flanagan—though she was on board with time apart.

  • The couple had been "fighting a lot" and spent the holidays apart.

Bachelor Nation is off to a rocky start to 2021—and by that I mean Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan sadly started the New Year with a breakup. Peter announced the news on Instagram (on New Year's Eve, no less), saying that while their relationship was "filled with countless beautiful memories," it simply "didn’t work out in the end."

But fans immediately noticed that the couple seemed totally fine just over a week ago—with Peter telling his followers he and Kelley were planning a January move to New York on December 23.

So...what happened? According to a source who spoke with E! News, Peter is the one who ended things.

"Peter ultimately was the one who ended it with Kelley, but she 100 percent agreed that they needed time apart," the source said, adding that their plans to move to NYC were putting pressure on the relationship: "They had been fighting a lot, and the move was very stressful and put a lot of pressure on them."

As of now, Kelley hasn't made a public statement about the breakup, but she and Peter "spent the holidays apart, and Peter is already back staying with his parents in L.A. for now."
