Sen. Ted Cruz was having dinner with his wife Heidi Cruz last night when Brett Kavanaugh protesters flooded the D.C. venue. Cruz holds a seat on the Senate Judiciary Committee that will vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh-who has been publicly accused of sexual assault by two women-to the Supreme Court.

The protesters, who chanted "We believe survivors!" until Cruz and his wife fled the restaurant, pressed Sen. Cruz to reveal whether or not he'd vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. It should be noted that Cruz and Kavanaugh are reportedly friends.

“Hi, I’d love to talk to you about Brett Kavanaugh tonight. I’m a constituent, love to know what your vote is going to be tonight. I know that you’re very close friends with Mr. Kavanaugh,” one woman asks Cruz, per the Hill, later adding that “Senator, I have a right to know what your position is on Brett Kavanaugh."

Cruz does not answer the protesters' questions, who resume chanting "We believe survivors!" until the Cruz's rise to leave the restaurant. And just as the two are prepared to make a swift exit out the restaurant's side door, another protestor calls out, "Beto is way hotter than you, dude," referring to Ted Cruz's Democratic opponent in the 2018 Texas U.S. Senate race, Beto O'Rourke.

This morning, Cruz was photographed on a flight back to Texas from D.C. reading an article that featured a photo of O'Rourke, which is quickly generating meme potential online.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford will report details of Kavanaugh's alleged sexual assault at the during a testimony this Thursday.
