If last year was all about the Pamela Anderson updo, this fall is shaping up to be the season of Priscilla-inspired teased hair. The baby beehive has made its way onto the likes of Ayo Edebiri, Elle Fanning, and Ariana Grande. That being said, Anderson-inspired hair hasn't gone anywhere just yet, and is a staple of stars like Doja Cat, Selena Gomez, and Kylie Jenner. Now, we are seeing a fusion of the two looks on none other than Katy Perry.

On November 13, the pop star posted a short video to her Instagram showing off her hairstyle with the backdrop of the New York City skyline. A big change from her previous ultra-short bangs, this look combined the volume of Priscilla's style with the stylish messiness of a Pamela Anderson updo.

Perry had the back of her hair bumped up into a small, messy beehive. On the back of the crown of her head sat the bump, though, unlike most Priscilla-inspired iterations, this one was not a consistent, solid shape with little-to-no loose strands. Instead, her take consisted of a few different dimensions of waves and lengths twirled together, with some sticking out farther than the rest, which is where the Pamela vibes came in.

Also, the front of her hair was left down with a face-framing accent for more of a Pamela effect. Where the iconic Presley look sweeps all her hair into a consistent style, Perry had her hair in a side part with her bangs shaping her face, traveling down to under her chin. All the strands were full of waves and created the perfect fusion of vintage and modern that we can't wait to replicate.

To recreate this look, you can follow the typical beehive steps, starting with wavy hair instead of straight and backcombing your hair at the crown of your head to shape it into the hive. "I love using a good texturizing spray like the Fekkai Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray ($27)," Glenn Ellis, celebrity hairstylist and Fekkai brand ambassador, previously told us. "This will give the same texture as the original look as seen on Priscilla."

Then, secure the beehive with pins and begin to pull strands gently out here and there to create a messy effect similar to Perry's, leaving the bangs and front of your hair out completely. With the loose parts of your hair, make sure they are wavy and fill in behind the ear to your forehead. Finishing off the style with layers of hairspray.
