Katy Perry Wore a Jumpsuit With Sleeve Trains

On the Fall 2015 runways, sleeves were the biggest trend. Well, duh sleeves were a trend, nearly every item had them. That’s like saying pants were the hottest thing! Or shoes are the best new buy! Wear a sweater when it’s cold out! But these sleeves weren’t regular sleeves. Embellishment, volume, bells, flares, fur-lined, and flouncy sleeves were all statements from designers such as Chanel, Christopher Kane, Dior, Marni, and more. And Katy Perry, while not a traditional fashion girl (she loves a good theme — the Super Bowl, stumping for Hillary Clinton, and California, to name a few), picked up on what fashion was throwing down — and then made it fit for a pop star.

On Wednesday night, the highest paid female musician in 2015 ($135 million — take that, Taylor Swift!) walked the red carpet before performing at Change Begins Within: A David Lynch Foundation Benefit Concert in New York City wearing a black jumpsuit with bat wings. Before changing into a custom Barbie pink gown with one-shoulder and an oversized bow made by Alexis Mabille, Perry walked the red carpet in a catwoman meets batman hybrid look.

Because long trains are basically required when it comes to black tie dressing, and a lycra onesie is more fit for a private sweat sesh with Gunnar Peterson or a long flight if you’re a Kardashian, Perry seemingly added trains to both of her arms to compensate for the rest of the inappropriate parts. She also made up for the athleisure with a gold and black wrestling belt, matching platform pumps, and gold drop earrings.

The best part? She can cut off the sleeves and wear it again!
