When it comes to fashion (and, well, pretty much everything), Katy Perry is not afraid to take risks (exhibit A: beer-can bra ; exhibit B: corset thong skirt), so it takes a lot for the singer to shock us. On Monday, Perry arrived at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards in a naked dress (not a new territory for the artist), but it was the gown's surprising combination of two juxtaposing trends that stopped us in our tracks.

Perry wore a totally sheer bedazzled fishnet gown with a high neckline and side cutouts, layered over a matching bra and underwear set. Perhaps the most the notable details, however, were the coquette-inspired red velvet bows along the open sides. The ribbon tied the frock together starting right under her armpit down to her mid-thigh, where the dress split creating a leg slit that revealed her black leather knee-high, kitten-heeled boots.

Perry accessorized with massive silver medallion earrings, futuristic visor sunglasses, and a smattering of rings. Her hair (which, by the way, has seen many iterations over the years) was styled in long black beach waves with a middle part. Perry kept her makeup fairly simple with fringed lashes and a neutral-toned lip.

During the show, Perry, who also presented an award, ran into another music icon — and current woman of the moment — Beyoncé backstage. The two posed together backstage in their equally as bold OOTDs.

For her part, Queen Bey opted to jump on the dress-like-the-main-character bandwagon in a Versace Western look on-theme with her new album Cowboy Carter that included a leather jacket, matching chaps, and a bedazzled cowgirl hat (with the brand's signature Medusa head decal, of course.)
