Katy Perry Storms Off Set Screaming During the Premiere of 'American Idol'

When it comes to judging talent on American Idol, panelists Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie are usually in agreement. But during Sunday night's season 3 premiere, Katy did not see eye to eye with her fellow judges — and she let them know it.

The "Roar" singer was not pleased when both Luke and Lionel didn't vote for 22-year-old guitar teacher Saveria to go through to Hollywood. In Katy's mind, Saveria crushed her audition with her original song. But when it came time for Lionel and Luke to weigh in, they weren't enthused.

"You had moments of great vocal stuff, and then all of a sudden it kind of drifted back and drifted off again ... Your job is to keep me engaged," Lionel explained to the young singer. Moments later, Luke chimed in that he was "with" Lionel on this one.

"You just stood up there and worked your butt off," Luke began. "But it's not making me levitate out of my chair."

Katy, clearly not having it, slammed her hand down before giving her thoughts on the audition. "You are a great singer, you are a gymnast singer. You can do cartwheels and backflips and do it all. You have so much potential."

When Lionel and Luke came out with their "no" votes, Katy shouted "y'all are crazy" while throwing her pen down and overturning her and Luke's cups in outrage. Still, Lionel and Luke didn't budge, which seemed to make Katy more frustrated. She proceeded to wander off the set, hit a stage light, and started screaming. Moments later, she punched the American Idol sign sitting behind the judges' desk and shouted "I don't believe anymore!" As the clip above shows, Katy then stormed off behind the scenes and told cameras "they [Lionel and Luke] need to get their hearing checked."

Turns out, the internet is in agreement with Katy, and thinks Lionel and Luke were dead wrong on this one. "LOVE SAVERIA!! It’s a travesty she wasn’t put through," one fan tweeted. "Why didn’t Saveria get through? Come on, that girl was ROBBED," another declared.

Time usually heals a lot of things, but as evidenced by Katy's tweet Sunday night during the premiere, she's still pretty upset over Luke and Lionel's decision. She tweeted: "Honestly, this almost made me quit the show because I thought @lukebryanonline and @lionelrichie had lost their d--n minds #AmericanIdol."

Yikes. Given how strongly Katy feels, maybe Luke and Lionel will reconsider for next year?
