Katy Perry Shows Off Her New Flattering Bangs Cut On 'American Idol' And Instagram

Katy Perry recently took to Instagram to flaunt her brand new bangs and the post has fans absolutely loving her new look. The American Idol judge, 38, debuted the eyebrow-grazing, long, wispy fringe with choppy ends during an episode on the show last week.

Now, the “Firework” singer is giving her 197 million followers a closer look at the hairstyle in her stunning selfie and a video that she uploaded soon after it. The new cut flatters her face shape perfectly, and emphasizes her eyes and cheekbones. It’s no wonder that people can’t seem to get enough of it!

Katy Perry Debuts New Fringe Cut On American Idol And Instagram

The Grammy winner first shared snaps of herself with her new ‘do on April 9th with a two-part IG carousel. The first pic is a smiling selfie, and one that gives a full view of her voluminous, shiny tresses. While the “California Gurls” singer slicked most of her locks back into an elegant updo, she left the bangs down and put on full display.

The second was another selfie in which she posed to the side, showing how her bangs were cut diagonally to seamlessly blend into the rest of her hair. In her caption, Perry wrote, “I hope u save some of ur Easter treats for stress eating during #idol tonight cause we’re narrowing it down to the top 24.”

After this, the mom of one and style icon posted a video from that week’s Idol episode in which she talked to a contestant about the show feeling intense. In the clip, the camera zooms in on Perry’s hair and makeup (lucky for us— those who want to re-create the look!) Once again, viewers can catch more peeks at the fringe, and a 360 view thanks to the way the vid was shot.

The “Unconditionally” crooner captioned it, “*turns up the intensity*” with music note emojis. For her makeup, Perry rocked a shimmering smokey eye with delicate notes of baby pink and silver blended eyeshadow hues.

This was accompanied by bold, sky-high lashes, rosy blush on her cheekbones and a glossy light red pout. As expected, fans were in awe of the whole thing, and headed to the comment sections of both of Perry’s posts to let her know.

“You look amazing!” one fan wrote as another added, “As beautiful as ever Katy so gorgeous.” Perry added shiny silver dangly earrings to accessorize her get-up, which was composed of a metallic trench coat dress and a black turtleneck sweater underneath.

Someone else commented, “Such a slay” as others conveyed their thoughts with heart-eye, red heart and fire emojis. One notable commenter was Perry’s longtime beau (and father of her 2-year-old daughter Daisy) Orlando Bloom. The Lord of the Rings actor who has been with Perry since 2016, wrote, “Fresh” with an adorable chick hatching from an egg emoji. No, we’re still not over it!
