In a weekend packed with more historic moments than we can recount, Katy Perry's performance at Sunday's Coronation Concert was a showstopper—as was her voluminous golden gown.

The star-studded concert featuring two American Idol judges—Perry and Lionel Richie—among other British talent wrapped up festivities surrounding the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Who was the future king most excited to see perform? Prince William said he was most looking forward to Katy Perry, but it was his son and daughter who seemed to really love the performance.

As Perry sang "Roar," Princess Charlotte, 8, was giddily singing along while Prince George was waving his Union Jack in time with the beat.

Back to that plunging golden Vivienne Westwood gown. The off-the-shoulder gold lame ballgown with matching opera-length gloves was designed to “exude baroque grandeur,” according to the brand. Perry paired the ensemble with gold earrings and a sleek updo.

Designed with a corseted 18th-century silhouette, Vogue said the gown was inspired by a bridal look from the British house’s spring 2006 Gold Label collection.

The bespoke number was almost as dazzling as the gilded Gold State Coach that carried Charles and Camilla back to Buckingham Palace after the coronation.

While the overall reaction to the gown was positive, some fans were not impressed likening Katy Perry's coronation dress to gold candy wrappers.

In fact, Quality Street, a British candy notably wrapped in gold foil, was trending during her performance.

"Shoutout to all those who stayed up gluing the Ferrero Rocher wrappers together," one person said on Twitter.

"I love Katy Perry but this dress is giving Werther's Original Candy that my grandmother use to eat," another said.

The chatter-worthy dress was Perry's second Vivienne Westwood outfit of the weekend. The British house also designed the lilac suit, elbow-length gloves and jumbo pearls Perry wore to the coronation on Saturday.
