The singer regrets her decision big time.

Katy Perry wishes she could go back and accept the opportunity to work with a major pop star that, at the time, she was unimpressed by.

Perry, 38, recently revealed that just shy of 10 years ago, she turned down the offer to work with this up-and-coming singer who became a chart-topping multiple Grammy award-winning artist: Billie Eilish!

Perry told concertgoers that she had received a request to work with Eilish, 21, shortly after recording her breakout hit, "Ocean Eyes," but decided to turn down the offer.

In a video at what appeared to be an intimate concert held by Perry, she told fans that someone sent her an email once that read: "Hey, check out this new artist. I'd really like us to work with her because she was working with me for Unsub [Records]."

"It was a song called 'Ocean Eyes,'" Perry recalled, "and it was just a blonde girl, and I was like, 'meh, boring.'"

Perry also admitted that her decision was a "big mistake. Huge mistake," later adding, "Don't let this hit the Internet." And to the artist's dismay, the highly talked about moment did go viral on TikTok.

Although Perry turned down her opportunity to work with Eilish, she did offer the singer some advice, as evidenced in the young star's 2021 documentary Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry.

"I wanted to say, this is going to be wild for 10 years. If you ever wanna talk… 'cause it's a weird ride," Perry told Eilish backstage at Coachella as she was gearing up to headline the stage.

Eilish made her mark in the music industry when she was just 13 with the 2015 release "Ocean Eyes." She then went on to become one of the biggest names in music, and in 2020, she became the youngest person ever to win a Grammy for the category "Album of the Year."

We're still hopeful that the world will eventually get a surprise duet from the two pop stars.
