Katy Perry Lands Acting Gig Your Kids Will Love

While Katy Perry has expanded her reach and explored new projects over the years, such as joining American Idol as a judge, her newest gig is particularly special for little kids, as the singer is officially joining the beloved show Peppa Pig in a new role.
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, Hasbro announced the exciting news, stating that Perry will voice the character Ms. Leopard in the upcoming Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special, a three-episode event that will premiere in spring 2024.
In celebration of the animated character Peppa Pig's 20th anniversary, two of the show's characters, Mr. Bull and Mrs. Cow, will be getting married in the new TV special. Perry's Ms. Leopard is a dressmaker for the wedding, who steps in to help out with last-minute wedding preparations.

"We’re incredibly thrilled to have such an A-list talent join the family-fun adventures in Peppa Pig! As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is a perfect fit to voice the character of Ms. Leopard,” said Olivier Dumont, the president of Hasbro Entertainment.
The statement went on, “Reaching this brand milestone of two decades and being able to work with outstanding talent like Katy is a testament to the worldwide success of Peppa Pig and her ability to deliver entertainment no fans will want to miss."

Hasbro's announcement also noted that casting and filming for the project was completed before the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
In the past, Perry said that she and her daughter Daisy, whom she shares with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, watch Peppa Pig at home, making this the perfect role for her. The pop singer has also taken on a few voice-acting roles in the past, notably playing Smurfette in The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2.
