Katy Perry Arrived at the Met Gala in a Suuuper-Short Minidress

Remember the year Katy Perry showed up to the Met Gala red carpet dressed like a giant cheeseburger? Or the year she showed up cosplaying as Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast? Well, there’s a different vibe this year, and instead of fully leaning into costume, Katy interpreted the “Gilded Glamour” Met Gala theme with a black-and-white minidress featuring both sheer vibes and a lacy moment. (Hold your applause!) Here she is on the way to le big event:

Katy actually already gave everyone a heads-up that her Met Gala look for 2022 was going to hit different, telling Page Six, “You know, it would be pretty obvious for me to go play the kooky, crazy, wild, big, fun, colorful card. This time, I’m going to play a whole different card. Maybe I’ll just come in a suit of armor or something. Maybe I’m not even going because I’m going to send someone the armor and they’re just going to pretend to be me!”

She also added, “I know what the people want, and I know where I came from. I always want to put a good show on. I take fashion risks all the time, but I never have any regrets.”
