Katy Perry Accidentally Called Orlando Bloom Her “Boyfriend” During ‘American Idol’ and the Tweets Are Hilarious

• Katy Perry accidentally called Orlando Bloom her boyfriend while live-tweeting American Idol on Tuesday night, and Twitter can’t get over it.

• Katy and Orlando got engaged on Valentine’s Day after an epic helicopter proposal. The couple started dating in January 2016, briefly split in 2017, and reunited last April.

Remember how Katy Perry and former elf/current bae Orlando Bloom got engaged on Valentine’s Day and it was supercute? Yeah, well, someone should probably remind Katy because she fully forgot.

The soon-to-be Mrs. Legolas demoted poor Orlando while live-tweeting American Idol on Monday night, calling him her boyfriend instead of fiancé. But to be fair, they’ve only been engaged for a hot second!

“My favorite part of watching #AmericanIdol with my boyfriend is that he always tries to ask if they got in or not before we give the final vote,” Katy tweeted. “I never tell him hahahahahahahahahahaha.”

Naturally, Twitter pounced, and the tweets are honestly golden.

But mostly everyone just feels bad for poor, sweet Orlando, who clearly should have purchased an even more massive ruby and diamond ring.

Although honestly, my personal favorite reaction is this girl, who-as she notes-did not put this engagement on her lock screen for Orlando to be called “boyfriend.”
