"Katy Keene" Revealed a Proposal Plot In New Photos of Lucy Hale During Filming

Katy Keene,, the forthcoming Riverdale spinoff about a young fashion designer and her friends trying to make it in New York City, has officially started filming, and photos from the set seem to reveal a major plot point: an engagement for Katy?

In the pics, reported by Just Jared Jr., we see Katy (played by Lucy Hale) and her boyfriend, K.O. Kelly (played by Zane Holtz) out for an evening walk in New York City, and at one point he gets down on one knee, which sure looks a lot like he’s proposing to Katy. Will there be wedding bells for our heroine so soon? The idea of Katy getting married so early in the series sounds a little bit extreme, but then again, this is the Riverdale universe, and stranger things have happened.

While we don’t know if Katy’s actually going to tie the knot in the show, we do know a few things about her and her friends; Katy apparently spends her days working at a department store and dreams of starting her career as a fashion designer. Her friend Josie from Riverdale has moved to New York too, attempting to make it as a singer. Katy’s friends Jorge/Ginger Lopez (Jonny Beauchamp), a drag performer, and Pepper Smith (Julia Chan), a girl-about-town, have been cast as well, rounding out the New York crew. And while Josie will make the move from Riverdale to NYC, there are no planned crossovers between the two CW shows; Katy Keene is set about five years after the current events on Riverdale.

One thing we don’t know about Katy Keene, potential proposals aside, is when the show will premiere on the CW. Of course, good things come to those who wait, so we’re happy to keep our eyes peeled for more on-set pics until more information about Katy and her crowd is revealed.
