Katrina Scott makes history as the 1st visibly pregnant woman to pose for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit

Katrina Scott is the first visibly pregnant woman to grace the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

The former Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year and founder of the fitness app Tone It Up posed in the pages of the magazine in a white swimsuit, with her pregnant belly on full display. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shared Scott's photo to its Instagram, along with a message from the influencer, who applauded the magazine for "breaking boundaries" and "speaking directly to all women in an empowering and inclusive voice."

"As women, we have been told, shown, and expected to hide (then 'bounce back' from) our pregnant bodies, when, in fact, our beautiful bumps embody the miracle of what it means to be Selfless, Vulnerable and Strong," she said. "In this issue, I hope to represent all the women out there that are creating life, feeling all the feels, and embracing change as they look to the future, especially those having difficult fertility journeys. I am with you, and you are never alone."

Scott, who is pregnant with her second child, concluded her message with, "Our bodies and minds are capable of extraordinary things, and as for me, I'm all about gracefully bouncing forward."

Scott, who is already mom to three-year-old daughter Isabella with her husband Brian, also shared the photos on her Instagram Stories, writing that she was "honored to be the first woman to represent pregnancy in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit."

Scott previously shared her second pregnancy came after she had experienced fertility issues and two miscarriages. In a 2021 Instagram post announcing that she was expecting, she wrote, "To everyone going through pain, loss, confusion, and grieving today... my heart is with you. I pray that miracles are on their way in 2022. sending all my love to you."

Earlier this week, she admitted in an Instagram post that her pregnancy doesn't always look like the maternity shoots she poses for at work. She wrote alongside photos of herself showing her pregnant stomach, "I wish this entire pregnancy looked like a maternity shoot. I'm currently in bed (looking nothing like this) going through pics and I'm so happy we ended up capturing these moments before baby girl comes."
