Katie Holmes Brightens Up Her Outfit With the Canvas Jacket You’ll Want to Wear All Spring Long

Katie Holmes is ushering in the start of a new season with a jacket that you’ll want to add to your transitional wardrobe.

The Dawson's Creek alum headed out in New York City last night looking understatedly cool in a nearly all-black outfit that she zhuzhed up with vibrant statement outerwear. This look consisted of black mid-rise straight-leg trousers paired with a cropped black top. She stayed warm by layering in a moss green quilted canvas jacket—a brand new piece from Everlane’s limited-edition collection with design duo Marques’Almeida.

The jacket is the perfect addition to any springtime closet, featuring a boxy oversize fit, a structured pointed collar, large square pockets, and circular tortoiseshell buttons running down the center. Everlane’s website notes that the Marques’Almeida collection makes use of the brand’s “surplus fabrics to create statement pieces based on a few of our best-selling styles.”

For a sophisticated touch, Holmes finished off the look with a pair of glossy black slingback kitten heels.

Holmes previously dished on her down-to-earth style in a 2022 interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “I love my T-shirts, and I love my vintage T-shirts. They're so yummy,” she said. “They're a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that's me.”

Still, she’s not above pulling out all the stops for high-profile events. “We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I’m like, ‘Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person,’” she explained. “We all just want to look good.”
