Katie Holmes Is On Board With the Sexy Cardigan Trend

A major trend to cozy up with this fall is the ’90s cardigan. Worn by style icons such as Cameron Diaz and Naomi Campbell throughout the decade, the buttoned-up knitwear look—worn with jeans or a form-fitting dress—feels brand new again. We've already seen it on the It girls du jour such as Bella Hadid, who paired it with a slinky knit dress this summer, and now, it seems Katie Holmes is also on board—and she's giving it a sexier, skin-revealing twist.

Spotted in New York City today, Holmes’s take on the trend included Khaite’s Scarlet cardigan, paired with the label’s Eda bralette underneath it. Forgoing a top with the cardi is another cheeky nod to the ’90s: Christina Aguilera was doing it on the regular back in 1999. To give it more of a daytime spin, however, Holmes wore the pieces with classic items such as straight-leg jeans, black mules, large black sunglasses by Westward Leaning x Olivia Palermo, and a sleek leather cross-body bag. But the star of the outfit is her shoulder-baring styling job—talk about a yummy-mummy moment.
