Katie Couric, 66, is keeping it real about her skin struggles on Instagram. The award-winning journalist shared with her followers that she's dealt with eczema since childhood, and posted a picture of her face during a flare-up.

On Thursday, Katie shared a close-up of her face, revealing that along with eczema, she also deals with allergic contact dermatitis.

"Calling all sensitive skin sufferers! 🙋♀️ I’ve had eczema ever since I was a little girl, and as I've gotten older, it's started to flare up again. I also deal with allergic contact dermatitis—safe to say, I have to be careful about what I put on my face. My search for treatment led me to @cherylleemdisme," Katie wrote.

She continued, "Her products have really helped. I asked Lee a lot of questions about what causes eczema and how to calm flare-ups. You can find all of her tips and tricks at the link in my bio. 🙌 (I can’t believe I let my team post this picture. Good Lord 🥴)"

According to the National Eczema Association, inflammatory skin conditions that result in dry skin, itchiness, rashes, and scaly patches are considered eczema. Each type of eczema (there are seven: atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and stasis dermatitis) can be treated with moisturizers, antihistamines, topical steroid creams, and corticosteroids to provide relief.

Katie has been pretty open about how she cares for her skin, and earlier this month, she spilled on the other holy grail beauty products she simply can't live without on her website, including those that treat and prevent an eczema flare-up (hint: she is a fan of moisturizers!).

She explained that she uses TrueCider Gentle Creamy Cleanser by her dermatologist, Cheryl Lee Eberting, MD., writing, "I have eczema, and this cleanser actually helps rebalance my skin's pH levels so that it can heal itself and prevent furture eczema flare-ups."

The Augustinus Bader Face Oil is her go-to during the winter months. "I know it's a bit of a spluge, but I swear this oil is worth every penny," she says. "During colder moths, this is a lifesaver for my eczema. It makes my skin feel dwey and fresh, but not greasy."

One product in particular that's she's used for years now is the Lancôme Rénergie Lift Mule-Action Night Cream Skin Rejuvenating Treatment ."I'm no esthetician, but this is the most effective product for lifting and firming my skin overnight."

In an interview with New Beauty, Katie touched on her habit of moisturizing when they pointed out the several Eucerin products in her bathroom. She replied, “I wish I could drink Eucerin because my skin loves it so much! I often put baby oil on right before I get out of the shower and then apply a second coat of Eucerin. I’ve almost killed my husband a few times, as the floor is so slippery. I highly recommend it!”
