Kathie Lee Gifford’s Son Is Engaged: See How the Family Celebrated
Kathie Lee Gifford is the latest TV personality to celebrate an engagement in her immediate family. Cody Gifford, the son of the former Today show co-host, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Erika Brown over Mother’s Day Weekend.
“My son is engaged and I couldn’t be happier for him and [Erika],” Kathie Lee wrote, alongside a sweet photo of the couple. Gifford shares Cody, as well as her daughter, Cassidy, with late husband, Frank Gifford, who passed away in August 2015.
Like her mom, Cassidy also took to Instagram to congratulate her brother. “So excited for what God has in store for these two,” she wrote. “The most excited to welcome my already sister @missamerikabrown into the craziness ❤️.”

After the proposal (which appeared to take place in the Santa Ynez Valley of California), the future newlyweds celebrated with music at a Florence + the Machine set in Santa Barbara.
The couple has been dating since May 2013, with Brown being a fixture in the Gifford family—even attending the Daytime Emmys with her future mother-in-law a few weeks ago.
Kathie Lee, of course, joins a few additional talk show personalities who’ve recently celebrated the engagement of their children, including Katie Couric and Gayle King.
