Kathie Lee Gifford on Faith Being “Central” to Her Life
Kathie Lee Gifford spoke candidly to Fox News this week about the role her faith plays in her life.
The topic came up during a discussion between Gifford and Craig Ferguson in New York City on Tuesday. The 65-year-old was taking a break from her busy post-Today life to moderate a talk with the former late-night host about his new memoir, Riding the Elephant: A Memoir of Altercations, Humiliations, Hallucinations, and Observations.
The pair, who have had a close relationship for years, addressed the fact that some might consider them unlikely friends due to their different world views and opinions on religion. But, they said, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Ferguson revealed that he's agnostic and called himself a work in progress. “I think it's really important to have strong emotional, affectionate bonds with people that you don't necessarily agree with,” he explained. “It's called having a family. Being a human being.”
That hasn’t gotten in the way of his friendship with Gifford, who wears her heart and her faith on her sleeve.
"My faith is central to everything I am," Gifford said. "The scriptures talk about 'In Him, I live and move and have my being' so it's not a religion to me, it's a relationship."
