About 18 months after the big day, Heigl shared her own sweet sentiments with People, saying, "I was fed up with trying to be somebody else, and got really lucky and met a great guy who loved me for me."

Josh Kelley and Katherine Heigl reside in Utah with their three children and six rescue dogs. Last year, the New Year's Eve actress told Parade why she moved her family from Los Angeles to Utah.

"I love living in Utah," Heigl said. "L.A. was never a place I felt was home. Everything about me being there was about getting work, keeping work, hustling and shaking hands. You feel like, 'I could lose it at any second. I have to keep this ball rolling.'"

The constant flashbulbs didn't help, either.

"On top of that is the attention of the press, the public, the paparazzi," she said. "Having the freedom to be ourselves as fully as we can be without the extra scrutiny is really what made Utah sacred to us. Plus, the people here have been incredibly welcoming and kind and supportive. It’s a real community."

Turns out, Heigl feels more at home in the mountains.

Yes, Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley have three children. In 2009, the couple adopted a daughter, Naleigh, from South Korea, where Heigl's sister was born.

"Josh and I started talking about [adoption] before we were even engaged," Heigl told Scholastic Parent & Child in 2014. "My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born. I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea. We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I just wanted to be a mom. So however we do that, it's fine with me."

The couple welcomed another daughter, Adelaide, via a U.S.-based adoption in April 2012. Heigl gave birth to the couple's third child, a boy named Joshua, on Dec. 20, 2016, three days before their wedding anniversary.
