Katharine McPhee Marries David Foster: Get the Wedding Details
Katharine McPhee and David Foster made their love a forever kind on Friday, June 28, before their closest family and friends in London, according to E! News.
The musical pair, who’ve been together since 2017, ecstatically celebrated their relationship in an elegant ceremony that was, naturally, music-driven.
McPhee, 35, and the groom, 69, ended up hosting family members on a tour bus the previous day.
The former Smash actress joked about keeping calm before walking down the aisle the morning of the ceremony. “The secret to a calm and collected bride. And maybe a little Xanax,” McPhee wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of herself getting a facial. “But this girl makes me feel soooo good.”
The pair’s wedding marked the beginning of a new chapter in the couple’s whirlwind romance. Though they met on the set of American Idol back in 2006, it wasn’t until more than 10 year later, in 2017, that the pair were linked romantically.
And even then, the couple opted to keep their relationship private, denying any sort of love affair even after being photographed having dinner together in May 2017, and even on the red carpet at a gala honoring Foster.
“We’re very close friends, and we’ve been friends for a long time,” McPhee told Health magazine in December 2017 as part of her cover shoot. “I’m really, really fond of him, and I think he’s an incredible person. I’ve known him since I was 21 years old, you know? He produced my first single. So he’s been really good to me. People can say whatever they want.”
Later that same month, they were caught kissing while out in Beverly Hills, and from there on out, the couple went public with their relationship. Foster romantically proposed to McPhee atop a mountain in Anacapri last July, and the pair have been giddily making plans toward the wedding ever since.
In late May, the pair was spotted leaving a Beverly Hills courthouse, where they were obtaining a marriage license, and in late June, they jetted off to Greece and Italy for a pre-wedding getaway, with McPhee sharing photos of herself decked out in a Madonna’s “Material Girl”-inspired rainbow tutu.
“Honey this is how you throw a party in Mykonos bitch!!*~*~*~ 🍹🇬🇷,” she captioned the shot. In another, the American Idol alum shared a photo of herself goofing off aboard a yacht, a bright blue sea behind her. “Mondays don’t always suck,” she wrote.
