Kate Upton Opened Up About the Pressure to "Snap Back" After Pregnancy Kate Upton gave birth to her first child, daughter Genevieve, in November 2018 with husband Justin Verlander. She recently told Editorialist that one of the hardest parts of early motherhood was breastfeeding. Upton also spoke candidly about the expectation to appear picture perfect after pregnancy. Upton clarified some of her comments in an Instagram post about the "major pressure" to "snap back" after having a baby. She wrote that she at first pushed herself to "snap back," but eventually gave herself "some slack and lived in the moment as a new mother." Other women, like Carrie Underwood, have shared similar postpartum experiences. Upton ended her post by reminding new moms that everyone's unique experience with motherhood is worthy of respect and appreciation. "Enjoy the moments with your new baby and growing family," she wrote. "Allow your body time to heal and make sure to go at your own pace."
