Leave it to Kate Moss to lead the fashion industry’s charge into a new era in art.

At the end of last week, it was announced that the top model will be venturing into the realm of non-fungible tokens, known as ‘NFTs’, by auctioning off her own series of digital works. As the latest form of cryptocurrency to go mainstream, NFT has become the topic of conversation within just about every community and at the intersection of both luxury fashion and art, Moss is putting her own unique spin on the trend. Taking the concept of owning and trading digital assets to the next level, the supermodel is working with art collective MITNFT to give customers a chance to purchase three limited edition videos that offer a glimpse of some of her most intimate instances.

“Art for me has always been about the moment,” Moss explained about her decision to enter into the cryptocurrency arena. “Time is the thing that there is never enough of and that waits for no-one.” Broken up in three different installments, each video lets you not only experience what it would be like to drive, walk, and sleep with the cultural figure, but the owner will also keep those moments in time.

For the catwalk-fixture, the use of the cryptocurrency as it relates to art is another way to curate her image to her liking. "[NFTs] are a new medium for art that I can participate in directly and be in control of my image. It gives you the artistic license to just go out there and do it,” she explains, highlighting the same forward-thinking attitude that Moss has become famous for. As for this new form of art, she is hopeful and believes that NFT’s rise in popularity is a step in the right direction. “I think the future of art is really exciting with new inspiration mediums happening all the time, art is the [most] free that it’s ever been,” Moss tells BAZAAR.

A percentage of proceeds will go to Adwoa Aboah’s Gurl’s Talk, which provides resources, mental health support, and a safe space for women and girls.

Though already available for preview, Moss and MITNFT’s triptych videos won’t be minted or on the market for purchase until Apr. 13 at 9am EST. But if you’re hoping to get your hands on the legendary model’s digital pieces to add to your collection, you’ll want to act fast because they’ll only be available for purchase for 24-hours.
