Kate Moss Says She Felt "Scared" During Her 1992 Calvin Klein Photo Shoot With Mark Wahlberg

Kate Moss is a legendary model who's been the face of tons of iconic campaigns.

You may or may not know that Kate starred in a Calvin Klein ad campaign with photographer Herb Ritts and Mark Wahlberg in the '90s — including a 1992 photo shoot where she was topless with the actor.

In a recent BBC interview, Kate talked about her experience on the shoot and why it was negative for her.

When Desert Island Discs host Lauren Laverne asked her what she remembered about the ad campaign, Kate said she had "not very good memories."

Kate described Mark as "very macho" and said that it felt like the shoot "was all about him." "He had a big entourage. I was just this model," she said.

When Lauren asked Kate if she felt "objectified," the model replied, "Yeah, completely. And vulnerable and scared. … I think they played on my vulnerability.”

Kate also added that Calvin himself

Kate also added that Calvin himself "loved" that she was "young and innocent."

This isn't the first time Kate has addressed this specific photo shoot. In 2012, she told Vanity Fair that she had a "nervous breakdown" because of the experience.

“It didn’t feel like me at all,

“It didn’t feel like me at all," she said. "I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die."

Mark has also addressed the photo shoot in recent years — specifically, in an interview with the Guardian circa 2020.

“I think I was probably a little rough around the edges. Kind of doing my thing,” he said upon being told that Kate found the photo shoot to be unpleasant. “I wasn’t very…worldly, let’s say that.”
