Kate Middleton dressed cool and casual for her first appearance of 2019.

On Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge swapped out her usual fancy frock and heels for a cozy winter outfit. During a visit to the Islington Community Garden in London, Kate wore a green tweed jacket with military style buttons by Dubarry, layered over a wine-colored turtleneck. She also donned a pair of skinny jeans, reportedly from Zara. But it was her unexpected footwear choice that has us most excited — a pair of sold-out See by Chloé brown suede boots that retail for $445.

The winter boots feature a rugged hiking sole juxtaposed with an elegant scalloped sole and a small block heel for height. The practical footwear is a departure from what we normally see the duchess wearing, which typically includes designer heels by Prada or Gianvito Rossi.
