Kate Middleton's Private Secretary Is Leaving After Just 2 Years
Kate Middleton's private secretary of two years has resigned from her role, per the Daily Mail.
Catherine Quinn has worked with the duchess since 2017, including helping develop her recent "early years" projects.
Kate Middleton is reportedly losing one of her most important staff members.
According to the Daily Mail's royal correspondent Rebecca English, Quinn is stepping down from her private secretary role after two years on the job. The role has seen her work closely with the duchess on developing her "early years" project, which focuses on helping organizations to support kids dealing with social issues like exclusion, crime, and addiction.
English also reported that, prior to joining the Duchess of Cambridge's office, Quinn was based at University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, and prior to that worked at charitable healthcare foundation, the Wellcome Trust.
The Daily Mail also noted, "Her decision to go after just two years is unusual. The job is considered a plum one and private secretaries can often stay in the role for a decade or more." It's unclear why Quinn has chosen to leave the post so soon, but the duchess will presumably find a replacement in the coming months.
A source told English of Duchess Kate's private secretary, "Catherine is a thoroughly lovely lady and has achieved a lot working for the duchess. But she simply wants to take a step back and focus again on her charity work." The source also confirmed, "They are parting on the best of terms."
