We're clearly not the only ones adding Taylor Swift ’fits to our Pinterest boards. On November 23, Kate Middleton visited the baby bank Sebby's Corner in northwest London wearing a look that would fit in perfectly with the pop star's prep-school-inspired fall uniform.

Much like Swift, whose wardrobe is filled to the brim with formfitting long-sleeve basics (you can see a recent example here), the Princess of Wales built her look around a simple black turtleneck. And while the 41-year-old princess did not pair her ribbed turtleneck with a pleated miniskirt à la Swift, she did break the same long-standing fashion rule that the pop star ignored twice in October.

In photos from her tour of the charity, Middleton wears a black top with a chocolate brown midi-skirt, topping of the look with a black leather belt and knee-high boots, which are having a major moment right now.

Despite what fashion fearmongers have been claiming for years, Kate Middleton and Taylor Swift have recently proved that various brown shades of brown do not, in fact, clash with black when styled thoughtfully. It's almost like they're all neutrals!

In late October, Swift added a bit of warmth to her chilly New York look by pairing a buttery leather Madewell blazer with a black top and brown corduroy miniskirt. Meanwhile, adding a deep chocolate brown skirt to an otherwise black ensemble added some much-needed depth and balance to Middleton's dark holiday look.

During her visit to Sebby's Corner, Kate Middleton helped the charity prepare for its annual Christmas Grotto and donated 50 copies of the children's book The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. According to the charity's CEO and founder Bianca Sakol, the royal mother of three has read the same book with her children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

“What struck me was how passionate she is about young people and early childhood and the difference that organizations like us can make,” Sakol told People. “She really did seem like she wanted to help raise awareness and use her voice for good—and not everyone does that. She understands the challenges we face and what we’re trying to do here.”

And that, my friends, further proves why Kate Middleton will never go out of style.
