The royal rift seems to still be in full effect.

Kate Middleton will appear at a special Christmas carol concert on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022—the same day the second half of Harry and Meghan drops on Netflix.

Royal Carols: Together At Christmas will be recorded on Dec. 15 at Westminster Abbey and will be broadcast on Christmas Eve.

"This year's carol service is dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the values Her Majesty demonstrated throughout her life, including duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion and support for others," Buckingham Palace said in a statement. "These principles are shared and personified by the inspirational guests who have been invited to the Abbey in recognition of their tireless work to help and care for those around them."

Prince William will make a speech at the concert, which King Charles will also attend.

Catherine Zeta-Jones will narrate the Christmas Eve broadcast of Royal Carols, which will also include special guests like Melanie "Mel C" Chisholm of the Spice Girls, Craig David, Hugh Bonneville, Kristin Scott Thomas, opera singer Alfie Boe and Les Miserables star Samantha Barks.

The news comes on the heels of trailers for Harry and Meghan showcasing tension between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the rest of the royal family.

Rumors of a "royal rift" have run rampant since after Harry and Megan's royal wedding in 2018, with the Sussexes accusing "The Firm" of planting falsehoods about them in the press.

In their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Megan said that reports that she made Kate cry at a dress fitting for Princess Charlotte before the Sussexes' May 2018 wedding were false—and said the opposite happened and that Kate had made her cry. She noted that Kate apologized, however, and said that the Princess of Wales is "a  good person."

In the same interview, Harry acknowledged tension with William.

“I love William to bits. He’s my brother, we’ve been through hell together," Harry said at the time. "We have shared experience, [but] we are on different paths.” He added that he and his brother are giving one another “space at the moment. Time heals all things, hopefully.”

The erstwhile "Fab Four" reunited briefly in September to greet well-wishers at Windsor Castle after the death of their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, a surprise even to palace security.
