  • James Middleton and his fiancée, Alizee Thevenet, were reportedly planning to get married this summer but decided to postpone due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  • According to a source, “They would prefer to wait until all their guests are able—and happy—to attend.”

If you thought Princess Beatrice’s wedding to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was the only royal wedding in the works at the moment, then rude! You clearly forgot that Kate Middleton’s brother, James Middleton, got engaged to his French girlfriend, Alizee Thevenet, a few months ago and the two are also planning their nuptials.

However, just like Beatrice and Edo changed their wedding plans to make the ceremony private with only a “small group of family and friends,” James and Alizee are also altering their plans due to the current coronavirus pandemic. But instead of making their wedding ceremony smaller, it looks like James and Alizee have chosen to postpone.

According to Daily Mail, the royal-adjacent couple was planning to have their ceremony this summer but decided to push it to a later date. A source shares, “It’s very sad, but it’s just not practical to hold it in this crisis....Holding an AngloFrench wedding is impossible in the coming months and is still likely to be difficult in the summer. They would prefer to wait until all their guests are able—and happy—to attend.”

And as frustrating as it is to put your life on hold (especially if that includes an upcoming wedding!), this sounds like it’s the right choice—staying home, traveling only if it’s necessary, and social distancing are what’s going to help us all get through this pandemic as safely and quickly as possible, so kudos to James and Alizee for putting everyone’s safety first.
