Happy Kate Middleton Day!

Today, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, turns 38 years old. While royals are taking to social media to honor her, Kensington Palace also posted a sweet photo of the duchess on Instagram to celebrate her big day. In the photo, Kate leans against a wooden fence, dressed casually in a blue-and-white checkered collar button-down, gray sweater, and jeans.

The caption reads, "Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages on The Duchess of Cambridge’s birthday!"

The photo appears to be from the same photo shoot that produced the sweet family portrait for the Cambridge's 2018 Christmas card.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family," read the Kensington Palace 2018 caption. "The photograph, taken by Matt Porteous, shows The Duke and Duchess with their three children at Anmer Hall. This photograph features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year."

In the picture, Kate holds Prince Louis in her lap, while Princess Charlotte and Prince George serve silly poses next to her and dad Prince William. The whole family sits outdoors on the trunk of a tree.

Kate's birthday comes on the heels of yesterday's surprising Sussex announcement. Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, revealed that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family. They allegedly did so without consulting the rest of the royal family.
