The royal family is commemorating Remembrance Sunday and the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I with a series of poignant events this weekend. Today, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle are all attending the annual Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph in London.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a black coat with a white color and red details for the somber occasion. Pinned to her coat was a crimson poppy pin, a symbol of remembrance.

Prince Charles laid a wreath on his mother's behalf and an equerry laid one for Prince Philip.

While Remembrance Sunday is always an important holiday for the royal family to mark, this weekend's events are particularly important because this year is the 100th anniversary since signing of the the Armistice that ended World War I. There have been a series of engagements to honor the occasion, including Prince Harry's visit to the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey earlier this week. Just yesterday, members of the royal family were also on hand at the Royal Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, an annual event held to mark Remembrance Day.

It's been a busy season for the royal family so far. After celebrating Princess Eugenie's royal wedding in October, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on a whirlwind royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand and announced the exciting news that Meghan is pregnant with their first child.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have stayed busy in London. Kate took on a royal engagement at the Imperial War Museum, and both the Duke and Duchess attended the Tusk Conservation Awards on Thursday.
