Catherine, Princess of Wales got into the holiday season and spread some cheer on Friday while visiting Sebby’s Corner dressed in autumnal It girl fashion.

Kate Middleton traded royal gowns and tiaras for trendy black knee-high heeled boots by Gianvito Rossi and a crocodile embossed gold buckle belt by Ralph Lauren. She paired the fashionable pieces with a smart black turtleneck and a suede chocolate brown midi skirt for a sophisticated preppy look. She accented the outfit with gorgeous pink and gold earrings by Missoma, glammed up with a soft pink lip and subtle smokey eye, and wore her hair down in voluminous waves.

The London charity—which was formed in January 2021 and has supported more than 5,000 families—provides food, clothes, and other supplies to families with young children in need. It works with professionals including midwives, health visitors, and teachers who refer families to them.

The Princess’s visit comes as part of her campaign Shaping Us, which she launched in January. The initiative “aims to raise awareness of the critical importance of early childhood in shaping the adults we become,” according to the website.

While there, the Princess of Wales heard about Sebby Corner’s work, spoke with representatives from baby banks across the United Kingdom about the increasing demand for their services, and met a mother who has been supported by the charity.

She also joined volunteers in finalizing Sebby’s annual Christmas Grotto, which provides a space for struggling families to choose gifts for their children. Kate helped to decorate the space and put gifts out, including 50 copies of the children’s book The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark that she donated.

Bianca Sakol, founder and CEO of Sebby’s Corner, shared her appreciation for Kate’s visit with People in an exclusive interview. “[The Princess] sat down with some of our families and really chatted with them and she understood where they were coming from. She is so warm and empathetic and really makes them feel comfortable and at ease,” she said.
