The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a new image of William and his three children today as they wish everyone a Happy Christmas. The family chose this adorable snap of the Prince kissing his youngest son Louis while George and Charlotte subtly smile for the camera. It was taken by keen photographer Kate at the family’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, earlier this year.

The image was tweeted to the 1.9 million followers of @KensingtonRoyal and also posted on their Instagram account where they have a further 10.5 million followers.

An accompanying message read: "Merry Christmas! This photograph of The Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis was taken by The Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk earlier this year. We wish all our followers a very happy and relaxing Christmas Day"

The image comes after the Cambridges decided not to release the photograph on their Christmas card this year. That picture, showing the family of five posing on a vintage motorbike, was seen after it was posted on Twitter by one recipient.

The Cambridges will join the royal family today as they attend the 11am service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. It is hoped that this year may see George, age six, and Charlotte, four, walk to church with family members for the first time. Other royals in attendance will include Prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward and Sophie and their children.

Also expected to make an appearance is Prince Andrew who will still be attending family occasions despite standing down from public life earlier this year following a disastrous television interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be there as they are spending Christmas in Canada with son Archie and Meghan’s mum Doria.

Prince Philip was released from hospital on Christmas Eve, after spending four nights receiving observation and treatment for an undisclosed condition, to join the royals as they celebrate Christmas.
