Sometimes Santa needs a little help spreading holiday cheer, so Kate Middleton stepped up to the plate. She recently brought her three kids to give back to community members in need, and we just know the late Princess Diana would be so proud of this heartfelt move.

The Princess of Wales drove her kids Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, who she shares with husband Prince William, to a Windsor Baby Bank to sort through toys and other essential items to bring to struggling families.

“Baby Banks are warm, caring places for families to access equipment, products, clothes and toys to help relieve some of the stresses creating significant pressures on people caring for babies and young children,” the Princess of Wales wrote on Twitter along with a video. She hops out of the car and opens the door for her kids to hop out. They go to the trunk, where there are brown paper bags filled with supplies for the Baby Bank. Prince Louis bounces around excitedly as Princess Charlotte reaches in the trunk to grab a bag. Prince Louis carries a box with a stuffed koala sticking out the top, and Prince George follows behind holding several bags in his hands. Middleton is beaming in the video, clearly so excited to share this experience with her little ones.

She shared a longer video on YouTube, where she tells her kids, “Here there are lots of people who give up their time. And there are lot of volunteers who come and help out. And so you’re the volunteers for this evening.”

Middleton was dressed in a white sweater, Prince George and Prince Louis had blue sweaters on, and Princess Charlotte wore red for the event. In the video, one of the organizers told the kids, “What we would like you to do is try and choose some presents for some children who were similar age to you guys.”

So the royal trio go through the warehouse, picking out toys, clothes, and other items for underprivileged kids. At one point, Prince Louis found a large King Kong toy, exclaiming in his cute little voice, “This is a big guy!”

Princess Charlotte was also impressed by the toys, saying “Oh la la” as she walked through the baby bank. She even looked shocked as she grabbed a tiny baby outfit, which made her mom smile. “This is Welsh!” she said as she held it up.

Later, the kids helped sort the donations, too. An organizer said, “George wants to come back, so that’s good.”

“You can see how rewarding this kind of work is knowing that you’re helping out others,” Middleton told her son at one point. He solemnly responds, “Yeah.”

“Our experiences, relationships and surroundings during early childhood lay foundations that shape the rest of our lives, and future society,” the statement from the Prince and Princess of Wales continued. “Supporting parents and carers, who are providing for their families in challenging circumstances can have a life-changing impact.”

They then pointed to the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood https://centreforearlychildhood.org/ to access or donate products to a Baby Bank this holiday season. The Centre was created by Middleton to “drive awareness of, and action on, the extraordinary impact of the early years, changing what we think and do on early childhood, in order to transform society for generations to come.”

People loved that Middleton was introducing her kids to volunteering.

“Lovely to see Catherine driving herself 🤗 and of course the Royal Rock Star Prince, Louis, bless his little cotton socks 🤗,” one person commented on Twitter.

“Those children are so well behaved and polite, a credit to their parents,” someone else commented on YouTube. “They get stuck in and Catherine explains what it’s for and why it’s important. It looks like they brought donations from home too. How worthwhile.”

“What a wonderful mother teaching her children the value of giving back to others and recognizing those in need,” another person wrote. “There is not a greater gift than compassion for others, and while I am sure Catherine and William teach many private lessons on selflessness at home, it is good to see George, Charlotte and Louis in action. No doubt these children will live lives of service and respect for all.”

Rebecca Mistry, co-founder of the Baby Bank in Windsor, told the Daily Mail, “It was such a fab visit, and lovely she could bring them in. It was nice for them, too, to come somewhere their mummy had been.”

She added, “You never know how the children coming here will take it but they were so well-behaved. We gave them some lists to work on and asked them to pack bags for children their own ages. They were so good at it.”

“They were here for probably an hour and a half, two hours,” Mistry told the Mail. “They kept on asking if they could do some more and also if they could come back again. Charlotte definitely asked to come back and we said we could sign her up for the summer holidays.” So cute! Mistry continued, “She was wonderful, working through the list methodically. She was so organised and knew what she wanted to do.”

Charlotte also wanted to help with a baby bag. “Charlotte also asked personally to help pack a baby referral bag. She spotted the Welsh baby-gro and shouted ‘Mummy look at this’. She showed it to George as well,” Mistry added.

Princess Diana often gave back to people in need, bringing along her sons Prince William and Prince Harry many times. “Nothing brings me more happiness than trying to help the most vulnerable people in society. It is a good and essential part of my life, a kind of destiny,” she once said.

If only she could have seen how her legacy would be carried on through her grandkids!

These relatable moments show that Kate Middleton may be a royal mom — but she’s a regular mom too.
