Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa of Jordan were married on Thursday, June 1st. Royals from around the world, including Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William, attended the wedding and continued celebrations with a glamorous banquet. Kate wore not one but two stunning Barbiecore looks for the affair. She first stunned in a light pink Elie Saab dress arriving at the wedding and then changed into an equally rosy, sequined gown for the reception. Kate even accessorized with her favorite tiara for the special occasion!

Kate Middleton Dons A Pink Sequined Jenny Packham Gown For A Royal Wedding Reception

Like the other guests at the wedding reception—even the bride—the Princess of Wales sported a new outfit for the evening event. She greeted the bride, groom, and their parents in a shimmering pink gown for the banquet. The ultra-light pink, sequin-covered gown was by one of Kate’s go-to fashion labels, Jenny Packham. The dress featured long sleeves, structured shoulder pads, a faux belt design, and an elegantly long train that flowed on the floor behind her.

The royal has been wearing some seriously chic Barbiecore looks lately. On a royal outing to the Foundling Museum, Kate sported a bright pink pantsuit with a waist-cinching pearl belt. And, Kate also took our breath away in an equally pink shirt dress at the Chelsea Flower Show. The Princess of Wale’s glowing appearance at the show reportedly stole the spotlight from King Charles who feels “eclipsed.”

Kate accessorized with the Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot which she has worn on several occasions like several state visits and the annual Diplomatic Corps reception. Princess Diana also wore the tiara frequently, according to People. The Court Jeweller reports that the tiara features pearls and diamonds formed in knot shapes. It’s more than 100 years old and it was originally commissioned by Queen Mary in 1913 or 1914.

The Princess of Wales also complimented her ensemble with sequined nude heels from Gianvito Rossi, a blush pink Satin Logo Box Clutch from Prada, a blue sash, and a yellow ribbon brooch pin with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth. And, for a touch of sparkle, Kate wore the Greville Diamond Chandelier earrings. Kate styled her brunette hair into soft waves pinned back by her tiara. She opted for a high-glam makeup look including gray eyeshadow, full lashes, bronzed and rosy cheeks, and a nude lip.

Fan Comments

The Instagram account Kate Middleton Style, which shares and sources her royal outfits, posted this ensemble to their socials. Devoted fans of the Princess of Wales commented on her chic dress, tiara, and glamorous hair. “These chandelier earrings are amazing,” one fan raved, while another commented, “Oh my, this is so stunning….I love her hair styled like that!” and a third wrote, “Absolutely gorgeous!” in the comments.

Other fans of the royal disliked the design of the Barbiecore dress, “What’s up with the shoulder pads? She doesn’t need them. The dress doesn’t need them. I have always wondered why almost all of her dresses have shoulder pads. They remind me of 80’s fashion,” one person commented, while another wrote, “Not a fan of this dress. Wished she wore something more flowing.”
