Kate Middleton sparked a 100% sales increase for this designer bag after she wore it
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (AKA Kate Middleton) has been spotted out and about a few times wearing a particular leather handbag - and according to the designer, sales of the bag have doubled since Kate wore it.
Call it the Kate effect - everything she wears seems to turn into sales gold for lucky retailers. Whether that's one of her many high street looks, or her Rachel Green dress, or her "healing" Missoma earrings, fans just can't get enough of her elegant, traditional style.
The bag in question? A £1,595 black leather top-handle purse, designed by Grace Han. Can't say my handbag budget extends quiiiite that far, but if I were a Duchess, I'd be all over it. The top-flap style, called "Love Letter," has sturdy gold protective feet, a removable cross-body strap, and a sleek silhouette. The bag also comes in red and blush pink, and a larger size as well.
Kate was photographed a lot carrying the bag during the Royal Train Tour last year, and the fashion press covered every detail of her festive, Christmas-y outfits. Like this one:
She had a winning outfit formula: smart, tailored coat + checked scarf + this bag = Kate's winter look. Here she is again with it, just turned backwards:
Han, who is a Taiwanese-born British desiger, told Femail, 'After the Duchess of Cambridge news, our sales were boosted. We sold dozens of Love Letter handbags in a very short time, with sales doubling compared to the same period the previous year.'
