Kate Middleton Says “It’s Really Hard” Not to See Friends and Family Members
Kate Middleton is currently self-isolating with Prince William and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, in their country home.
Kate said it’s “really hard” to be away from friends and family.
Kate Middleton just gave a Zoom interview with ITV’s This Morning to talk about her new community photography project with the National Portrait Gallery—and she opened up about how self-isolation amid the ongoing health crisis has been hard on her kids. Especially since they’re unable to see friends and family.
“It’s really hard,” she said during the candid chat. “We hadn’t done a huge amount of FaceTime and face calls and things like that, but obviously we’re doing that a lot more now, and actually it’s been really great.”
Kate added that she, William, and the kids speak to their families every single day but it’s still difficult for George, Louis, and Charlotte to understand the situation.

“We try and check in daily with family members and speak to them about news and things like that,” she said. “And in some ways, I suppose we’ve got a lot more face time than perhaps we would have done before, but it is difficult. It’s hard to explain to a 5- and a 6-, nearly 7-year-old what’s going on.”
Meanwhile, Kate said that homeschooling has also been a challenge, explaining that “George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects. Making spider sandwiches is far cooler than doing literacy work.”
Understandable. Also, why am I not spending my time making spider sandwiches? Must fix that immediately.
