Parenting is one of the world’s toughest jobs — and one that you can’t really “clock out” of. Case in point: during a recent royal outing, Kate Middleton’s motherly instincts were in full force, proving that moms are basically in mom mode all the time.
Princess Kate and Prince William went to Scotland on Thursday, where they took part in the Outfit Moray at the Burghead Primary School. Outfit Moray is a charity focused on “delivering life-changing outdoor learning and adventure activity programs” for kids, per PEOPLE, which is right up their alley for this sporty couple. But Middleton’s mama bear side came out when she saw one young boy fall off his bike.

Greatest Hits Radio News shared a video on X of the moment Middleton went to comfort the boy. She patted his back and told him he is “so brave.” Later, she insisted he “give it another go.” That encouragement must have meant so much to him!
Seeing this sweet interaction gives a glimpse into how she must act with her own children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. One person commented on the video: “She’s just a caring, giving person and clearly very maternal. 💖 I’m sure she’s loved on her own children the same way, who have had falls from their bikes. She definitely is a children’s Princess👑☺️.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales (who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland) also participated in a bike race themselves during the event. They seemed to really enjoy their time there and were highly praised.
In an interview with MFR News and Sport, per PEOPLE, the acting head of the primary school Martin Collins revealed that Princess Kate was “really just involved with the boys and girls.” He added, “One of the boys fell over as well, and she was really — sort of came to him and nudged him back, so that was really nice to see.”
Motherhood always seems to be top of mind for Kate. In September, she visited Orchards Centre in Sittingbourne, Kent, where she “appeared to enjoy engaging with the children, from rubbing toddlers’ backs and tickling their tummies, to helping them to daub toys with foam and throw tinsel and shredded paper around,” according to Daily Mail.
