Kate Middleton, Prince William, the Queen, and Prince Charles All Shared Tributes for Archie's 2nd Birthday

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's issues with the royal family and its treatment of them and their son Archie may not be fully resolved following the airing of their Oprah interview in March. But for Archie's 2nd birthday today, all the senior royal family members have publicly put tensions aside to wish the little guy a happy birthday from England.

Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a tribute on their Duchess and Duke of Cambridge Instagram account, writing, “Wishing Archie a very happy 2nd birthday today. 🎈🎂” alongside a photo from Chris Allerton of Archie's christening.

The Duke and Duchess have since started promoting a new YouTube video on their Instagram account, so the Archie post didn't have the spotlight for long.

The Queen posted a shot of Meghan, Harry, and Archie shortly after his birth. “Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today. 🎈” her royal family Instagram captioned the shot.

And Prince Charles, on his Clarence House account, shared a photo of himself and Harry with Archie, also taken by Chris Allerton. “Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today. 🎂” the Instagram was captioned. Archie hasn't been photographed with the royal family in over a year, since his parents moved to California amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Where do things stand between Harry, Meghan, and the royals now? Omid Scobie got an update for Harper's Bazaar following Harry's trip to the UK for his grandfather Prince Philip's funeral last month. The door is open for more conversations, but there is still a lot to resolve.

A source close to Harry told Scobie that “this trip was to honor the life of his grandfather and support his grandmother and relatives. It was very much a family-focused period of time. Saturday broke the ice for future conversations but outstanding issues have not been addressed at any great length. The family simply put their issues to one side to focus on what mattered.”
